Weeks 1 and 2 of Summer School are in the books! Week 1 was themed "Under the Sea". We learned what type of water supports buoyancy, which sea animals live in which layer of the ocean, did some hard math and reading exercises and a few on-theme crafts. We even had some tasty themed treats!  Shark Week (Week 2) was such fun we have only a few pics! Fun STEM activity making homemade suckers was the top fun this week! We also had some yummy treats by Miss Sease! Up next.... Seahorse and Squid Week!  Call the school if you want to get in on the fun!!

Kindergarten and First Grade spent the afternoon at Theo Art School in Bismarck learning all about painting! Using acrylic paints on canvas, we learned about the primary colors and how to create new colors and shades through step-by-step instructions. Everyone had a blast! We were shown how to paint not one, but two puppies! This is definitely a field trip at the top of everyone’s list! We can't wait to go back in the future. Thank you, Theo Art School for a wonderful experience! This was an amazing experience for our students; who did a great job exhibiting the Dragon Way!

Thank you McClusky-Goodrich PTO for our field trip to Minot's Roosevelt Park Zoo! In true MGPS fashion, we made lemonade out of lemons! In an attempt to avoid a rain day, the elementary school and some brave teachers took students to the zoo and despite all the renovations, disappointing exhibit closures and the heat, we learned an Okapi is the closest relative to the giraffe and armadillos like routines. Thanks to the PTO, all was not lost and we got treated to Subway sandwiches and a visit to Oak Park! Students and staff were tired on the way back!  Here are some highlights!
