Before winter break, the Kindergarten and 1st and 2nd grade students went on a field trip to the Heritage Center in Bismarck! They got to take Mr. Pat Faul's new bus! They enjoyed the cozy ride! The 2nd grade students finished the book, "The Magic Tree House: Dinosaurs Before Dark." As a reward we went to explore some more about dinosaurs! Once they all filled our their dinosaur packets, they got to play in the "Tree House!"
Thank you to our bus driver and chaperones who helped make this a successful trip!

Big congratulations to Ethan Saueressig for earning a spot in the Junior High All-State Band! Ethan earned this honor through a recorded audition of etude and scales. He will represent our school at the state event on March 13 - 14 at Mandan High School. We are so proud of him!

The high school and elementary students joined together on Wednesday for our full school House event. Students were paired up and tasked with creating winter scenes with marshmallows and toothpicks. Thank you to the elementary staff for planning and setting this up for everyone!

1st and 2nd grade put on their detective badges last week to help Chef Turkey solve the mystery of the missing Thanksgiving feast! Students worked with a partner to solve five clues and eliminate suspects as they went! They all worked extremely hard and came up with the Thanksgiving thief, Marty Moose!! They all received a certificate from the "McClusky-Goodrich Public School Detective Agency."

Join us on Monday, December 8th at 6:30pm in the High School Gym for this year's Christmas Concert. The concert will be streamed live on Facebook for those who cannot make it in person.

The eighth graders got a crash course in problem solving, critical thinking and teamwork in Mrs. Lauer's Intro to Computer Science class. Each team was given a pound of dry spaghetti noodles and an endless supply of hot glue to build a sturdy bridge to span a 12-inch abyss. On testing day, they added textbook by textbook to see whose bridge would hold the most. Congrats to Kai, Paedyn and Nicole! Their bridge held 75.7 pounds, tying our record from last year.

Thank you to all who came out for the Thanksgiving-themed Family Math Night last week! We had a great time playing giant games and learning about math. Thank you to Ms. Seperoto and her music students for serving supper. See you in the spring for the ELA Night!

Happy Thanksgiving from the McClusky-Goodrich administrators!

The elementary students had a blast outside for recess yesterday in the newly fallen snow!

Mrs. Lauer's Nutrition & Food Prep class prepared a Thanksgiving feast to share with their classmates during first period. They made turkey, stuffing, cheesy hashbrowns, mashed potatoes, gravy, candied yams and cranberry sauce. They rounded out the meal with pie and sparkling cider. Thank you to Miss Kaisley for helping make the hand turkey decorations! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The 1st and 2nd Grade class has been working hard for the last two weeks! It started with a social studies lesson on relative location. With the gorgeous weather last Friday, we walked around town drawing buildings in our community. We also recorded their relative location to each other. As the weather started to get colder, we used Google Maps to complete the research. Once we had all of our information recorded, we started to draw each building. After a lot of drawing, tracing, coloring, cutting, and many, many glue sticks used, we created a map of McClusky!
Thank you to Mr. Williams and Mr. Senske for coming in to hang up our map!
Some questions to ask your student:
What does relative location mean?
What are some of the building/businesses in McClusky?
