Today in First Grade we talked about the work of Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel.
While we didn't look closely at his work, we discussed how hard it would be to paint on a ceiling.
To get an idea of the difficult task, the students were challenged to draw and color a picture on a piece of paper taped to the bottom of their desk!
Ask your student:
How long did it take Michelangelo to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel?
Was it easier or harder to "draw on the ceiling" than you thought it would be?

We're thrilled to announce the new app for MGPS! It's everything MGPS, in your pocket.

Kindergarten students have been learning to encode, blend, and segment words! Any time we can spell without a paper and pencil they are all about it! The students were given trays of flour and needed to spell the given words. After the skill work lesson, we quickly switched to a science lesson! The students help make homemade playdough!
Some questions to ask your child:
1. Segment (break apart) the following words; hog, cat, not, him, van
2. What ingredients did we use to make playdough?
