Halloween fun at McClusky-Goodrich School.

The sixth grade class is examining some dinosaur replicas. They were able to enjoy and learn from a paleontologist who visited the school from the Badlands Dinosaur Museum in Dickinson.

Happy Halloween from the McClusky-Goodrich Kindergarten class! We celebrated with some of the students in the junior class by carving pumpkins! Before they could start carving, each pair had to fill out a book about their pumpkin. They had to describe their pumpkin, count lines, and measure it using cubes. Thank you to the wonderful high school students (they were great!) , the JDA, and the Bentz Supply store for supplying us with the pumpkins! Also, thank you to the PTO for donating bags and all of the local merchants for the treats!

The fourth graders had a fun Halloween day. They participated in many different ELA and Math Halloween activities. One activity we did was identifying nouns, verbs, and adjectives with Halloween words. Students walked around the classroom and had to identify the Halloween words as nouns, verbs, or adjectives. Ask your child to tell you about the differences between nouns, verbs, and adjectives.

The first graders did a Halloween-themed Learn by Listening to Directions activity with Ms. Potts.

Help us celebrate Red Ribbon Week! Dress-up days are as follows:

In science class, the second grade students were asked, "What would happen if you didn't have a skull?" As part of their research, they made skull masks. Ask a second grader: What are the parts of the skull?

Elementary learners partnered with their book buddies and read together this morning.

Preschoolers are exploring the letter F this week. Learners painted foot pictures and explored identifying the letter F and it's associated sound. Questions to ask your preschooler- What sound does the letter F make? What are some words with the F sound? When you are reading a story, look for words with the letter F and be a letter detective looking for the letter F outside of school.

The kindergarten class would like to give a huge "THANK YOU" to Mrs. Carol Abrahamson for giving us some little pumpkins to paint!

Christmas is coming! For all you early shoppers, check out the fall sale at our school swag store at https://apparelnow.com/mcclusky-goodrich-public-school-apparel/. All proceeds go towards the high school FACS program.

Welcome to Our House! The high school students kicked off the monthly House meeting at the end of September. They were broken into four groups consisting of students they normally wouldn’t have the chance to spend much time with during the course of the normal school day. Ask your high school student the name of their group, who their fellow members are and the lesson they learned with Lego.

Presenting the September MGPS Dragons of the Month! Congratulations, Harpyr, Lexi, Ellerady and River! A huge shoutout to the McClusky-Goodrich PTO for donating the McClusky bucks for our kiddos. Check out the October newsletter for more details.
